Delhi Court Reverses Order on Adani Article Takedown
A company, Adani Enterprises, wanted articles about them taken down, claiming they were harmful.
A court initially agreed and told the journalists to remove the articles.
However, a higher court has now said that the first court was wrong to order the removal without hearing from the journalists who wrote the articles.
This second court said the initial order was too broad and that the journalists should have had a chance to defend their work.
The case now goes back to court, where the journalists and Adani Enterprises will be heard again, before a decision is made about the articles.
A Delhi court reversed an order requiring journalists to remove articles and social media posts about Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL).
The initial order, issued on September 6, directed the removal of the content.
The court stated that the initial order was issued without hearing from the journalists.
The district court found the order was sweeping and equivalent to deciding the case without a trial.
The court has directed a new hearing with both the journalists and AEL present.
