International Geoscience Education Workshop Kicks Off in India
Imagine a big learning camp for young people who love rocks, soil, and the Earth!
This camp is called the IGYM Workshop and it's happening at a school in India.
Students from many different countries are coming to learn more about Earth science.
They'll do fun things like go outside and study rocks, do experiments in labs, and learn how to be leaders.
They will also work together to come up with new ways to teach people about Earth science all over the world.
The goal is to help everyone understand how the Earth works and how to protect it.
An international geoscience education workshop has commenced at the Prayoga Institute of Education Research campus.
The workshop is organized by the International Geosciences Youth Movement (IGYM) under the International Geoscience Education Organization (IGEO).
The Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, and RISE Philanthropy are supporting the event.
Thirty students from India, Israel, France, Spain, the USA, and Sri Lanka are participating.
The workshop includes fieldwork, lab experiments, and leadership training with a focus on Earth System Education.
