Air India Faces 1 Crore Bill for Forgotten Boeing 737
Air India has a big problem.
They forgot about an old airplane, a Boeing 737, that was left at the Kolkata Airport for 13 years.
The airplane was decommissioned in 2012, but no one remembered to take it away.
Now, Air India has to pay a huge parking bill of 1 crore.
The airplane is very old, first used in 1982.
It flew for different companies before being used by India Post.
The CEO of Air India said they had no record of the airplane.
This happened because of a big merger and bad management.
The airplane is now in Bengaluru, where it will be used to train engineers.
The Kolkata Airport has been clearing old airplanes to free up space.
A Boeing 737 registered as VT-EHH was left at Kolkata Airport for 13 years after being decommissioned in 2012.
Air India has accumulated a parking bill of approximately 1 crore for the forgotten aircraft.
The aircraft was first inducted into service in 1982 and has a long history with various airlines and India Post.
The CEO of Air India noted that the company had no record of the aircraft, attributing it to bureaucratic mismanagement and the 2007 merger.
The aircraft has been moved to Bengaluru, where it will be used for training maintenance engineers.
