Assam CM: Bangladesh's Corridors More Vulnerable Than India's
Imagine India has a skinny path (Siliguri Corridor) connecting its northeast to the rest.
Someone said they could cause problems there.
The Chief Minister of Assam pointed out that Bangladesh has two similar skinny paths, like India's.
One path, about 80 kilometers long, could cut off a big part of Bangladesh.
The other, about 28 kilometers, links its main cities.
He said these paths are important and could be vulnerable.
He mentioned this to share some facts people might not know or remember.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Bangladesh has two vulnerable "chicken necks".
The North Bangladesh Corridor (80 km) could isolate the Rangpur division.
The Chittagong Corridor (28 km) links Bangladesh's economic and political centers.
Sarma noted these geographical facts in response to threats regarding India's Siliguri Corridor.
Disruption in either of Bangladesh's corridors could cause significant isolation.
