Root Returns, Fleming Appointed as England Test Coach
England’s cricket team has a new boss and a new captain.
Joe Root, a famous English batsman, will lead the team again.
Stephen Fleming, a former New Zealand captain and coach of a big Indian team, will be the new coach.
They will start working together after England plays Pakistan.
The changes come after the previous captain retired and the old coach was fired.
The new coach will help the team get better and win more games.
The England board chose them after a careful search.
Everyone is excited to see how they work together.
Joe Root reappointed as England’s Test captain, returning to the role he held from 2017‑2022.
Stephen Fleming, former New Zealand captain and Chennai Super Kings coach, named England’s new Test head coach.
Appointments follow Ben Stokes’ retirement and Brendon McCullum’s dismissal.
Root will lead England in the three‑test home series against Pakistan starting 19 August, with Marcus Trescothick as interim coach.
ECB said Fleming will take over after the Pakistan series and begin preparations for England’s tour of South Africa later this summer.
