BJP May Slow FCRA Amendment to Push Delimitation, Buzz Says

The government of India makes rules about how the country runs, and two big rule changes are being talked about in Parliament.

One rule is about money that comes from foreign countries, and another rule is about redrawing election maps, which is called delimitation.

The government wants to redraw these maps so more women can become lawmakers, with 33 out of every 100 lawmakers being women.

Some political parties, like the DMK and NCP, do not like the foreign money rule in its current form.

So the government might slow that rule down to make these parties happy and get their support.

A leader named Supriya Sule met the Prime Minister, but she said they only talked about her home state, Maharashtra.

For the election map rule to pass, two-thirds of lawmakers present must vote for it.

Last time, the Bill did not get enough votes, so the government is hoping other parties will stay away or not vote.
