DTC Bus Strike Enters Second Day, Disrupting Delhi Services

Drivers and conductors of Delhi’s DTC buses stopped working to ask for higher pay.

Their strike continued for a second day on Wednesday.

Because fewer buses were running, transportation was disrupted across the Capital.

The workers’ union says they receive Rs 862 each day.

It says this is the minimum wage set by the Delhi government.

The union believes qualified bus workers should earn more than this amount.

The protest is expected to continue on Thursday because the workers’ demands were not met.

The union compared the current pay situation to “bonded labour.”
