Supreme Court Halts Arrest of Former DMK Minister Balaji
The Supreme Court of India decided not to arrest a former state minister named V Senthil Balaji.
He was accused of helping a state company that sells alcohol do illegal things.
The court said he must give up his passport and cannot try to change witnesses or evidence.
They also said he should not be in custody because the case is mostly about documents.
A police report was filed on July 28, 2025, saying he and others may have taken money that belongs to the public.
The court wants to make sure the investigation is fair and that he does not influence it.
This is a big legal decision in the state of Tamil Nadu.
