Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh Rail Corridor Gets Two New Lines

Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh Rail Corridor Gets Two New Lines

A railway route between Gummidipundi and Gudur will get two additional tracks.

The route is about 90 kilometres long.

The project will cost Rs 2,229 crore and take about four years.

It crosses parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

More tracks should help trains move more smoothly and reduce pressure on the existing route.

The project should also improve rail links to several ports.

Visitors may find it easier to reach Pulicat Lake and Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary.

A large bridge over the Swarnamukhi river will be built as part of the work.

The project is included in a larger railway expansion plan approved by the Cabinet.
