Bhopal Sets March 31 Deadline to Clear Aadampur Legacy Waste

Aadampur, near Bhopal, has a very large pile of old garbage.

The city corporation has made a new agreement with a private agency to process it.

The agency is supposed to finish clearing the site by March 31.

About 4 lakh metric tonnes of old waste are still there.

The project is expected to cost Rs 55 crore.

The company has started work with three machines and about 55 workers.

Some material made from the waste is sent to cement plants.

Fires have happened at the site, and the city corporation says it will watch the work.

The city also spends money separately to manage new garbage arriving there.
