CJP Leaders to Protest in Delhi, Condemn Detentions

The Cockroach Janta Party planned a protest in Delhi on October 10.

Its leaders wanted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign.

They said changes to voter lists had removed people’s names unfairly.

The party said some people travelling to the protest were stopped or detained.

It also alleged that its spokesperson and his brother were assaulted in Rajasthan.

CJP asked for detainees to be released and allowed to travel safely.

It criticised reported train cancellations, metro station closures and mobile internet restrictions.

The article does not include a response from the authorities.

Abhijeet Dipke said the protest should go ahead even if he were detained.
