Bombay HC Orders State, Civic Officials to Pay for Abrupt Project Halts

Bombay HC Orders State, Civic Officials to Pay for Abrupt Project Halts

The Bombay High Court said that if the government or city officials stop a public project suddenly, they should pay for the damages, not the taxpayers.

This happened with a parking project near Mumbadevi Temple in Mumbai.

The project cost Rs 122 crore and was stopped last year.

The court said this to make sure the government doesn't waste public money.
