Mumbai Afghan Church Hosts Free Immersive Light Experience
A special light show is being held inside Afghan Church in Mumbai.
It is called ASCENSION.
The show uses moving lights and pictures on the church’s walls and windows.
The church’s Gothic design becomes part of the artwork.
Visitors will see colours, patterns and images inspired by space.
The event is part of the Mumbai Light Festival.
It runs from August 27 to 29, 2026, between 7 PM and 10 PM.
People can attend for free, but they must register online first.
ASCENSION is an illuminated projection-mapping installation at Mumbai’s historic Afghan Church.
The experience is part of the Mumbai Light Festival and was created by Floating Canvas Company.
Projections use the church’s Gothic arches, stained-glass elements and architectural details.
The installation features shifting colours, patterns and celestial imagery inspired by humanity’s search beyond the unknown.
ASCENSION runs from August 27–29, 2026, from 7 PM to 10 PM, with free entry after online registration.
