Taliban diplomats mark 5th anniversary of victory day in Delhi

Five years ago, a group called the Taliban took control of the country of Afghanistan.

This week, the Taliban's diplomats in India held a party at the Afghan embassy in Delhi to celebrate that day.

It was the first time such a celebration happened at an embassy in India.

Many diplomats from other countries came, including people from Russia, China, and Iran.

But Pakistan, a neighbor of Afghanistan, did not come.

The Taliban's leader at the embassy gave a speech about peace and safety in Afghanistan.

India has not officially said it recognizes the Taliban as Afghanistan's government, but the two countries are talking more.

People who worked for Afghanistan's old government watched the party from the lawn.

The old Afghan flag still flies outside the embassy, while the Taliban flag was placed on the stage inside.
