Nagesh Kukunoor on Mrs Deshpande and Madhuri Dixit
Nagesh Kukunoor is making a new show called Mrs Deshpande, which is about a serial killer.
It stars Madhuri Dixit, who is playing a very different kind of role for her.
The show is based on a French series called La Mante, but Kukunoor changed it to fit an Indian setting.
He wanted to make the character upbeat and positive but also mysterious.
Madhuri Dixit was excited to take on this challenging role.
The show will be on JioHotstar soon.
Kukunoor also talked about how he likes to try new things and is planning to make a small, independent film next.
Mrs Deshpande is a Hindi adaptation of the French miniseries La Mante, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.
Madhuri Dixit stars in a strikingly against-type role as a serial killer.
The show will be released on JioHotstar on December 19, 2025.
Kukunoor wanted to create a female serial killer character and chose to tell the story from her perspective.
The show features a more accessible and realistic tone compared to the original French version.
