Chhatarpur Collector Mrinal Meena held a meeting about government work and families affected by the Ken-Betwa Link Project.

He said officials must not ignore people’s complaints or government responsibilities.

He ordered officials to improve services at Karaundia, where displaced families have been settled.

These services include an Anganwadi centre, a doctor, medical camps, bicycles for eligible students, hand pumps, electricity and regular food rations.

He also told officials to prevent illegal liquor sales and protect families from unsafe medicines and unlicensed businesses.

Some displaced tribal people were still protesting and asking for fair compensation and a clear rehabilitation plan.

The Collector ordered salary deductions for two local-body officials who missed an important meeting without notice.

He also asked departments to resolve complaints and pending cases more quickly.

A government road official was told to explain why court-related action had been delayed.
