SEBI Allows Transaction Charges for Mutual Fund Distributors
SEBI, the market regulator, is allowing mutual funds to pay extra fees to distributors.
This is for distributors who bring in at least ₹10,000 in investments.
SEBI made this decision after talking to the public in May 2023 and industry experts in June 2023.
Because distributors act like agents for the mutual funds, SEBI believes they should be paid.
The new rules started right away, on August 8, 2025.
