DA Could Reach 66%-67% by January 2027, Estimate Says
8th Pay Commission: DA may hit 66%-67% by January 2027 as AICPI-IW points to another hike · livemint.com

Dearness Allowance, or DA, is extra money added to some government employees’ salaries.

It changes when prices for goods and services change.

The government uses the All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers to help calculate it.

Recent index numbers have increased during 2026.

If the index stays high through December, DA could rise to about 66% or 67% in January 2027.

This would mean higher monthly pay for eligible employees and pensioners.

The number is only a projection because some index figures and the official government decision are not available yet.

A future 8th Pay Commission salary revision would be separate from this regular DA increase.
