Deutsche Bank Expands Emerging-Market Credit Team
Deutsche Bank is growing its team that works with loans and bonds from countries that are still developing, like those in Latin America.
They've hired two new people who used to work at other banks.
This is part of a bigger plan to add about 25 people to this team.
The bank had stopped working much in this area a few years ago, but now it's growing again because there's a lot of interest from investors.
Some of the new hires were even taken from a competing bank, which caused some problems there.
The bank is also being investigated for some old deals, but that's separate from this new team.
Deutsche Bank is expanding its emerging-market credit team with two new hires in New York.
Thomas Fitzpatrick and Christopher Staudt will focus on Latin American corporate debt.
At least 13 people have joined the team, with more hires expected to reach around 25.
The expansion is led by executives like Chris Leonard, co-head of fixed income and currencies for the Americas.
The bank is rebuilding its emerging-market business after scaling back since 2019, amid strong sector performance and high demand for emerging-market bonds.
