SSC Chairman Details New Multi-Agency Exam Process for 2025 Exams
Imagine the people who make a big test, like the SSC, decided to do things differently.
Before, one company did everything: made the questions and ran the test.
But a judge said that's not a good idea, so they changed the rules.
Now, different companies do different jobs.
One company makes the questions, another company makes sure the test happens smoothly, and a special government group called C-DAC helps keep the computer systems safe.
This new way started in the summer of 2025.
At first, it was a bit tricky, and some students couldn't get a test center close to home, like someone from a big city getting sent to a small town far away.
But the SSC worked hard to fix these problems.
For a recent big test in September, almost everyone got to take their test in a city they liked, which was a big improvement!
SSC has restructured its exam process, engaging specialized firms for specific tasks like IT security, exam delivery, and monitoring.
A court directive led to the separation of roles, preventing a single agency from handling both question paper preparation and exam conduction.
The new multi-agency system commenced in July 2025, with C-DAC handling IT security and Eduquity managing exam delivery.
Initial coordination issues, including inconvenient exam center allocations, have been resolved, with a high percentage of candidates now getting their preferred cities.
In the September CGL exam, 93% of candidates received their preferred city, marking a record for the SSC.
- Who
- The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and its Chairman, S. Gopalakrishnan, along with various partner firms including C-DAC and Eduquity.
- What
- The SSC has restructured its examination process by involving multiple specialized firms for distinct tasks like IT security, exam delivery, and question paper preparation, following a court directive.
- When
- The new system has been in effect since July 2025, with initial coordination issues resolved by the September 2025 CGL exam.
- Where
- The SSC examination process is being managed across various locations with exam centers potentially far from candidates' residences, though recent improvements have increased preferred city allocations.
- Why
- To comply with a court directive that separated the roles of question paper preparation and exam conduction, and to enhance IT security and overall exam delivery efficiency.
