ASI Resumes Excavation at Bhubaneswar’s Sukasari Temple
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has started digging again at the old Sukasari Temple in Bhubaneswar.
They found special statues and pieces of the temple that were buried.
The temple is very old, maybe from the 12th or 13th century.
They are digging deep, up to 20 feet, to find more hidden things.
The temple has special carvings and styles from that time.
The ASI wants to protect the temple and fix it up.
They have money to do this work.
Experts hope to learn more about how temples were built long ago.
ASI resumed excavation at Bhubaneswar’s Sukasari Temple after a three-year halt.
Notable finds include an early idol of a deity and fragments of temple architecture.
Excavation has reached 20 feet below the current ground level.
The temple reflects classical Kalinga architectural traditions, including Kakara Shaili.
