CJP Seeks Jantar Mantar Protest Date After Airport Detentions

The Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, wanted to hold a protest in Delhi.

It planned to call for election chief Gyanesh Kumar to resign over alleged problems with voter lists.

Police detained three CJP leaders when they arrived at Delhi airport on Saturday.

The leaders said they were not shown written reasons for being detained.

They also said their phones were taken and they could not speak with a lawyer.

They were released on Sunday.

On Monday, CJP leaders said they would ask Delhi Police to give them a date for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar.

They said they might announce another protest if no date was given within 24 hours.
