Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Debbarma to Exit Active Politics

Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Debbarma to Exit Active Politics

Pradyot Debbarma leads the Tipra Motha Party in Tripura.

He said he plans to stop taking part in active politics after next month because of health problems.

He said he will still speak up if he believes Tiprasa people are treated unfairly.

He wants the central government to start carrying out the Tiprasa Accord.

He said the government had promised to begin after Durga Puja.

His party recently won village committee elections, though the report gives conflicting totals for the results.

Debbarma asked party workers to hold a rally next month.

He also said people in the villages can now have elected local bodies after a decade without them.
