Khandwa Opposition Protests ₹40 Lakh Sterilisation Spend Over Dog Bites

Khandwa Opposition Protests ₹40 Lakh Sterilisation Spend Over Dog Bites

A protest was held in Khandwa because many people have reportedly been bitten by stray dogs.

Opposition leader Deepak Rathore brought a person wearing a dog mask to a government hearing.

He said the city spent about ₹40 lakh sterilising stray dogs over four years.

He also said about 13,225 people were bitten during that time.

Rathore questioned why the dog population and bite incidents had not decreased.

He asked officials to check the money spent, the company chosen, and the number of dogs actually sterilised.

He also requested records and physical checks of the work.

Advocate Sunil Chandel said stray dogs had become a public safety concern.

An official said the complaint would be investigated and that action would follow if wrongdoing was found.
