EC's Transparency Unparalleled in Electoral Roll Preparation: Gyanesh Kumar
In India, there is a group of people who make sure elections are fair.
The leader of this group is named Gyanesh Kumar.
He said that his group is very open about how it makes the list of people who can vote.
India has about 950 million people who can vote.
That is more than any other country in the world.
During big elections, about 1.8 million workers help out.
Mr. Kumar told people to download an app called ECI Net.
The app shows election information from as far back as 1951.
The list of voters is checked carefully before it is finished.
Political parties are allowed to check the list too, so everyone can be sure it is correct.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said the Election Commission follows an "unparalleled level of transparency" in preparing electoral rolls.
India has around 950 million voters, making it the world's largest democracy, he said.
Nearly 18 lakh (1.8 million) personnel work under the EC during Lok Sabha elections.
Kumar urged people to download the ECI Net mobile application, which provides electoral data dating back to 1951.
The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls is completed for about 700 million voters, with verification of another 350 million underway.
