Jindal Steel to Double Structural Steel Capacity
Jindal Steel, a company owned by the Naveen Jindal Group, is planning to double the amount of structural steel it can make at its Raigarh plant in India.
Right now, the plant can make 1.2 million tonnes of structural steel every year.
By the middle of 2028, they want to increase this to 2.4 million tonnes.
This will help make more heavy and very heavy steel sections that are used in big building projects like bridges and towers.
To do this, they will build a new mill and upgrade their technology.
The company's stock price has been going up recently, reaching a high of Rs 1,010.00 on Monday.
Jindal Steel plans to double its structural steel capacity at the Raigarh plant to 2.4 MTPA by mid-2028.
The expansion includes a new dedicated structural steel mill and advanced technology upgrades.
Current capacity is 1.2 MTPA, and the expansion will enable production of ultra-heavy sections up to 1,100 mm depth and 1,500 kg per metre.
The expansion aims to enhance the availability of heavy and ultra-heavy structural steel sections in India.
Jindal Steel's share price touched an intra-day high of Rs 1,010.00 on Monday, with gains of 5.55% in the past six months and 5.95% year-to-date.
