NITI Aayog Skill Roadmap Supports Telangana’s Industry-Linked Approach

NITI Aayog has suggested changing how India teaches job skills.

It wants students to learn employability skills from Class 6.

It also wants structured vocational education to begin in Class 9.

Schools, colleges and training centres would work more closely with industries.

Telangana has already created Young India Skills University and offers courses linked to industries.

The state is also part of a plan to improve Industrial Training Institutes.

However, educationist Vinod Kumar said many Telangana students still have weaknesses in language and mathematics.

The report also suggests tracking people’s skills digitally and measuring whether training leads to jobs, better pay or career growth.
