Dhami Honors Khatima Statehood Movement Martyrs, Announces Welfare Measures

Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Khatima to remember people who died while fighting for Uttarakhand to become a separate state.

He placed flowers at memorial statues and honoured the martyrs’ families.

Dhami said the state was created because many people worked and sacrificed for it.

He remembered seven activists who were killed in the Khatima firing incident.

He also praised women for their important role in the movement.

The government gives some activists and their families job reservations and monthly pensions.

Some injured, jailed and active activists also receive monthly payments.

Dhami said the government must work according to the hopes of the statehood movement participants.
