Four KLF Suspects Detained in Amritsar Ahead of Independence Day
Police in Amritsar caught four people who might belong to a group called the Khalistan Liberation Force.
They were taken in a place called Ajnala before India’s Independence Day.
The four men live in a part of Amritsar called Ramdas.
Police think the group might have tried to blow up a police post with a bottle bomb last month.
They also want to know if the men were involved in killing a police officer and an explosion near the army.
The men will go to court on Friday, and the police may keep them in jail to keep looking for more clues.
Four suspects linked to Khalistan Liberation Force were detained by Amritsar Rural Police in Ajnala ahead of Independence Day.
The detainees—Karanbir Singh, Mandeep Singh, Sukhdeep Singh, Pradeep Singh—are residents of Ramdas area, Amritsar district.
Investigators allege the group planned a major terrorist strike and may have been involved in a bottle‑bomb attack on Chamiyari police post on July 22‑23.
Police are probing links to the killing of Assistant Sub‑Inspector Joga Singh and an explosion outside the Army area at Khasa.
The suspects are expected to appear before a local court on Friday, where authorities may seek custodial remand to continue the investigation.
