AP to Establish Coconut Processing Hubs in Konaseema
The government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to set up a new processing center in the Konaseema region to help local coconut farmers.
The project, led by Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, will cost nearly 10 crore rupees.
The center will be located in Pedapatnam Lanka and will help turn coconuts into various products like coir, mats, and oil.
The area already has many coconut farms, producing millions of coconuts each year.
This new center will help local businesses process the coconuts more efficiently and create more jobs.
The AP government will establish a Common Facility Centre (CFC) in Konaseema.
The CFC aims to promote coconut-based industries.
The project has an allocated budget of Rs 9.96 crore.
Razole constituency alone produces 30–40 crore coconuts annually.
A coconut research center is also under consideration.
