Haryana Launches Plan to Revive Aravalis and Combat Desertification
Haryana is taking action to stop the desert from spreading!
The Forest Department plans to revive a large area of the Aravalis, the mountains that protect against the desert.
They will plant lots of new trees in six districts.
This is because the desert is getting bigger due to things like illegal mining and cutting down trees.
They are also working with local people to plant more trees and make the cities greener.
This plan will start soon, and officials will watch over the project to make sure it's working.
Haryana Forest Department will revive 853 hectares of the Aravalis.
The project aims to stop desertification and prevent forest degradation.
1.8 lakh saplings will be planted across six south Haryana districts.
Desertification is attributed to illegal mining and deforestation.
Local communities and panchayats will participate in plantation drives.
