India Invests Rs 11,639 Crore in Border Villages

India is working to improve villages near its international borders.

The plan is called the Vibrant Villages Programme.

It will cover more than 2,616 villages.

The government plans to spend Rs 11,639 crore through two phases.

The money will help build roads, electricity, phone networks, schools and healthcare facilities.

It will also support jobs and other ways for people to earn a living.

Many border villages have faced isolation and people moving away because of difficult conditions.

The government hopes stronger communities will stay in these areas and help make the border more secure.
