New Aid System Begins in Gaza Amidst Controversy
A new group, supported by the U.S., started giving food to people in Gaza.
This is happening because Israel stopped all food from entering.
However, the UN and other groups don't agree with this new plan because they fear it's not fair and may use food as a weapon.
On the same day the aid started, Israeli strikes killed many people, including those sheltering in a school.
The new group hopes to give aid to about half of Gaza's people.
A U.S.-backed group started a new aid system in Gaza on May 26, 2025.
The new system is backed by the U.S. and Israel, but opposed by the UN.
Distribution hubs opened after an almost three-month blockade.
Israeli airstrikes killed at least 52 people in Gaza on the same day.
The aid system aims to reach around half of Gaza's population.
