Gen Z Taxpayers Shift to Multiple Income Streams
A new study shows that most young people in India are making money from more than one job.
About 76 out of 100 people under 25 say they earn from a salary, stocks, freelance gigs, or their own businesses.
This is a big jump from only 14 out of 100 in the 2022-23 tax year.
The data comes from tax returns filed until July 20.
It shows that Gen Z is mixing regular jobs with other ways to earn money, like investing in the stock market or starting small businesses.
76% of taxpayers under 25 report multiple income sources.
Data covers returns filed up to July 20.
Percentage rose sharply from 14% in AY 2022-23.
Income streams include salaries, stock investments, capital gains, freelance work, and entrepreneurship.
