OneSource Expands for Semaglutide Generic Production
OneSource Specialty Pharma is getting ready to make a generic version of a medicine called semaglutide.
This medicine is used in drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, which help people with weight loss and diabetes.
The company has many clients and is preparing to launch this product in several countries, including Canada and India, where the patents for semaglutide will expire soon.
OneSource is investing a lot of money to increase its manufacturing capacity and is confident about a strong financial year in 2027 because of these launches.
The company is also involved in a legal battle with Novo Nordisk, the maker of Ozempic and Wegovy, but this hasn't stopped its plans.
OneSource Specialty Pharma is preparing to manufacture generic semaglutide for multiple clients.
The company expects to be part of the first wave of generic semaglutide launches in Canada and other markets.
Patents for semaglutide are set to expire in January 2026 in Canada and March 2026 in India.
OneSource is investing $100 million in capacity expansion over the next 18–24 months.
