Congress-ruled States Plan New Education Policy for Youth
Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said several Congress-ruled states want to create a new education policy.
The policy would focus on what young people need and hope to achieve.
The plan follows directions from the Congress high command.
A meeting in Delhi to discuss it was planned but cancelled at the last moment.
Shivakumar said students should learn to start businesses and create jobs.
He also said many universities around the world are interested in attracting students from Karnataka.
He praised Bengaluru as an important centre for knowledge, technology and talent.
He said Karnataka has many schools, colleges, engineers, doctors and other trained professionals.
The state’s education and skills, he said, could help India develop faster.
