DMRC to Handover Rapid Metro Operations in Gurgaon
The Rapid Metro in Gurugram, a city in India, will soon be run by a different company.
Right now, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) runs it, but the Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) will take over.
This change was decided at a meeting of the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC).
Until the change is complete, DMRC and GMRL will work together to keep the metro running smoothly.
This transition comes as the metro sees more people riding it and earning more money.
DMRC will soon transfer Rapid Metro operations.
GMRL will take over the operations.
The announcement followed the 62nd HMRTC Board meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi.
DMRC and GMRL will jointly manage operations during the transition.
