GHMC Launches Pedestrian-Friendly Footpath Project in Filmnagar
The GHMC in Hyderabad is building a special footpath in a busy area called Jubilee Hills.
This footpath is designed to make it safer and easier for people to walk.
It uses blocks made from recycled plastic, which helps the environment.
The footpath will also have solar panels to provide shade and clean energy.
There will be special features to help people who are visually impaired.
The project costs Rs.
1.68 crore and will be finished in four months.
This is part of the GHMC's plan to make Hyderabad a better place to live.
GHMC is developing a Model Footpath in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, from Ramanaidu Studio to BVB Junction.
The project aims to enhance pedestrian safety, mobility, and urban aesthetics, with a completion timeline of four months.
The footpath will use recycled plastic paver blocks, composed of 65–70% post-consumer plastic waste, offering high compressive strength and sustainability.
A 10 kWp Solar Grid System will be installed, providing shade and contributing clean energy to the grid.
