Geopolitical Tensions, Crude Oil to Drive Indian Markets This Week

Geopolitical Tensions, Crude Oil to Drive Indian Markets This Week

This week, people who trade parts of companies, called stocks, will be watching some big world events.

There is tension between the United States and Iran, and a very important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz is in the spotlight.

Many ships carrying oil pass through the Strait of Hormuz, so what happens there can change oil prices.

When oil prices go up or down, the prices of stocks can change too.

Last week, stock prices in India went down a little bit.

Two big Indian stock lists, called Sensex and Nifty, both lost some value, ending two weeks of going up.

The traders also want to read the notes from a meeting of America's central bank, called the Federal Reserve.

Those notes might tell them if borrowing money will become more expensive.

If it does, stock markets around the world could become more uncertain.

Traders will also watch what foreign investors are doing.

So this week, the stock market might go up or down depending on world news and oil prices.
