Inside Ladu Samrat’s Round-the-Clock Ganpati Sweet-Making Hustle in Mumbai
Ladu Samrat is a famous sweets and snacks shop in Mumbai’s Lalbaug area.
Ganpati is its busiest time because many people visit nearby Ganesh idols.
Workers are making sweets all day and night, especially modaks.
The shop expects to sell more than 10,000 kilograms of modaks during the festival.
On the first day, it may sell up to 12,000 Ukadiche modaks.
The shop also prepares foods such as misal pav, vada pav and puri bhaji.
Roads near the shop close during the celebrations, so the business must store extra supplies.
Many customers order online, although heavy crowds can make deliveries difficult.
The company is also preparing to open a new store in Kandivali.
Ladu Samrat expects to sell more than 10,000 kg of modaks during the 10-day Ganpati festival.
Its Chinchpokli factory is operating around the clock, while customer hours extend from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Ukadiche modak sales can reach 10,000–12,000 pieces on Ganpati’s first day.
