Storm Goretti causes widespread disruption in Europe

Storm Goretti has caused significant disruption across Europe.

In France, strong winds reached up to 216 km/h, causing power outages for 380,000 households and school closures in 30 regions.

In Britain, tens of thousands of homes lost power, and schools were closed in Scotland and parts of central England.

The UK's Met Office issued a rare red wind alert for some areas and an amber snow warning for others.

In Germany, heavy snow and strong winds led to school closures and transport delays.

The storm has also been linked to at least eight deaths in Europe, including one in Albania.

Authorities across affected regions have urged residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
