Karnataka High Court Orders Compensation Scheme After Mangaluru Lynching Case

Karnataka High Court Orders Compensation Scheme After Mangaluru Lynching Case

The Karnataka High Court examined a case involving the alleged mob killing of Ashraf in Mangaluru.

The incident happened after a cricket match on April 27, 2025.

The court said mob attacks are dangerous because people are replacing the legal system with violence.

It said Ashraf’s family should have been told about the bail hearings and allowed to object.

The lower court made a serious mistake by not doing this.

However, the high court did not cancel the accused people’s bail.

It said there was no claim that they had broken bail rules or interfered with witnesses.

The court ordered Karnataka to create a temporary compensation plan for victims’ families within three months.
