Bombay High Court Quashes Prosecution in Child Death Case
The Bombay High Court has stopped the prosecution of two Army officers.
The case involved the death of an officer's child who fell from a building.
The officers were initially part of a military court, which ended due to jurisdictional issues.
The Ministry of Defense then tried to prosecute them in a civilian court, but the High Court ruled against it.
The court stated that the officers had already been subject to a military process, and therefore, a civilian trial for the same incident was not permitted.
Bombay High Court quashed prosecution of two Lt. Colonels.
The officers were accused in the death of an Army officer's child.
The incident occurred on April 6, 2017, in Goa.
A prior General Court Martial ended due to a plea of jurisdiction.
The High Court ruled the officers couldn't be tried again in a criminal court.
