Tripura Poised to Become IT and Data Hub in Northeast, Says MeitY Secretary
Imagine Tripura wants to become a super-smart computer center for the whole Northeast region!
A big government official, S Krishnan, said it can do this because it's close to Bangladesh, which helps it get super-fast internet.
It also has enough electricity and water, which are important for big computer rooms called data centers.
He also talked about keeping our online information safe, like our personal details, and making sure our computers and phones are safe from bad guys online.
He mentioned that new rules in other countries might even help India get more big tech companies to set up shop.
Tripura also got a new plan, called a Cyber Security Policy, to help keep everything safe.
There was a special workshop to teach everyone how to work together to protect our digital world.
MeitY Secretary S Krishnan identified Tripura's potential to become an IT and data hub in Northeast India.
Tripura's strategic location offering access to the international internet backbone via Bangladesh, along with water and power availability, supports data center establishment.
The launch of Tripura's Cyber Security Policy 2025 aims to secure IT systems and promote collaboration.
A workshop, 'Cyber Bharat Setu,' focused on cyber resilience, intelligence sharing, and capacity building to combat cyber threats.
Recent US trade policies may encourage global capability centers to be hosted in India, including states like Tripura.
