TIPRA Motha demands TTAADC elections, Kokborok script change
A group from the TIPRA Motha Party met the Chief Minister of Tripura to talk about two important things.
First, they want elections for the tribal council to happen on time before April 18.
Second, they want the Kokborok language to be written using the Roman script, like English, instead of the Bengali script.
The Chief Minister seems to be considering their request and has asked the group to talk to the people in charge of school exams in Delhi about the language script.
The tribal council has already started using the Roman script in their schools, and students in government schools can write in both scripts.
TIPRA Motha Party delegation met Tripura CM Manik Saha to discuss TTAADC elections and Kokborok script adoption.
Delegation demanded timely elections for TTAADC before the current tenure expires on April 18.
They urged the CM to ensure TTAADC elections are held to avoid any administrative vacuum.
Delegation submitted a memorandum to adopt the Roman script for the Kokborok language.
CM advised the delegation to meet CBSE and ICSE heads in Delhi for the script adoption.
