Beed Farmers Report Crop Losses, Plan Protest Over Insurance
Farmers in Beed are worried because there has not been enough rain.
The soybean crop has already been badly damaged.
Cotton crops could also be ruined if rain does not come soon.
Rajendra Amte asked the government to help protect the crops.
He also suggested trying artificial rain.
Farmers say money promised under crop insurance has not yet reached them.
They want the government to declare a drought and provide compensation.
The farmers’ group plans to hold a protest in Beed.
Inadequate rainfall has severely damaged soybean crops in Beed district, while cotton crops remain at risk.
Rajendra Amte urged the government to protect standing crops and conduct artificial-rain experiments.
