Darul Uloom Deoband issues Kanwar Yatra safety advisory for students
A big Islamic school in India, called Darul Uloom Deoband, gave its students some new safety rules.
Right now, many people are taking part in a large religious walking journey nearby called the Kanwar Yatra.
Because so many people are on the roads, they are very crowded and busy.
The school told students not to go out unless they really need to.
If they have to travel, they should stay away from the yatra routes and the main highway.
They should only ride in special reserved train compartments.
They also have to carry their school ID card with them at all times.
Anyone coming back to school after sunset must show their ID card at the gate.
The school says these rules are meant to keep students safe and to keep things running in an orderly way.
Darul Uloom Deoband, the prominent Islamic seminary, issued a special advisory for its students during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra.
Students were advised to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly on kanwar routes and the GT Road, and to venture out only if absolutely essential.
The written order was issued on Wednesday evening by hostel in-charge Maulana Ashraf Abbas.
Students undertaking essential travel must use only reserved railway coaches and carry their Darul Uloom-issued identity cards at all times.
No student will be allowed to enter the campus after sunset without producing the institution-issued identity card.
