Iran Blacklists 11 More Vessels Over Hormuz Non-Compliance

Iran has added 11 more ships to a list of vessels not allowed to use the Strait of Hormuz freely.

The country says these ships did not follow its rules for traveling through the waterway.

This brings the total number of listed vessels to 56.

Iran says some of the new information came from people who reported it.

Ships that work with a listed vessel could also be added to the list.

Possible penalties include fines, detention or confiscation.

Iran advises cargo owners to check the list before hiring ships.

The move happened one week after Iran listed 45 tankers.

Iran created the Persian Gulf Strait Authority on May 18 to manage maritime traffic through the strait.
