Mumbai Psychiatrist Links Hostage Crisis to Rising Social Disgruntlement

A doctor in Mumbai, Dr. Harish Shetty, talked about why someone might do something shocking like take people hostage.

He said that lately, people are feeling very unhappy and frustrated with how they are treated by bosses, leaders, and even other people.

It's like everyone feels they are not getting a fair deal.

This feeling, called 'social disgruntlement,' is growing because people don't have many safe places to talk about their problems anymore.

Mumbai is a very busy city where it's hard to get help for your issues.

Dr. Shetty explained that when people feel unheard and unappreciated, they might try to 'teach others a lesson.'

He also said that people are less empathetic nowadays and don't connect with each other as much as they used to.

To fix this, he suggests that people need to reconnect more, like talking to neighbors and celebrating together, because we are all safer when everyone feels safe and cared for.
