'Choice Rests With US': Iran Offers Seven-Day Hormuz Reopening Plan

'Choice Rests With US': Iran Offers Seven-Day Hormuz Reopening Plan

Iran says it has sent the United States a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The plan was delivered through Qatar and is supposed to take seven days.

Iran says ships could again pass normally if certain conditions are met.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the choice now belongs to the United States.

He also said Iran would not give in to threats or pressure.

The proposal is based on an earlier agreement called the Islamabad Memorandum.

Iran says it changed parts of that agreement to prevent negotiations from being delayed or disrupted.

Iranian and US officials have also held talks in New York.
